111111 Melissa Tucker is an Attorney Advisor of the Office of Congressional
112112 Affairs under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,
113113 Office of Inspector General (OIG).
114114 Ms. Tucker advises Congress about proposed legislation and
115115 responds to Congressional inquiries regarding OIG audits,
116116 evaluations, and investigations. Prior to her time with the OIG, Ms.
117117 Tucker was an Associate Director with the Mayor's Office of Legal
118118 Counsel. She oversaw the analysis and determination of all Freedom
119119 of Information Act appeals submitted to the Mayor, while ensuring
120120 transparency. Ms. Tucker has also served as an attorney advisor with
121121 the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, assistant general counsel with
122122 the Council of the District of Columbia, and as an assistant city solicitor and municipal integrity
123123 officer with the City of Providence Department of Law in Rhode Island. During Ms. Tucker's
124124 time with DC Council, she assisted with developing the Council's first Code of Official Conduct,
125125 and she advised Council members and staff regarding compliance with ethic laws.
