150+Alan S. Bubes is a native Washingtonian and is a graduate of the
151+Sidwell Friends School. After graduating college, he worked with his
152+family’s business here in DC and then with Aramark Corporation in
153+Philadelphia. In 1985, Mr. Bubes and his family purchased Linens of
154+the Week, which was the former Arcade Sunshine/Palace Laundry, a
155+Washington, DC institution, which was located on Lamont Street in
156+Columbia Heights.

158+Mr. Bubes served as President/CEO for over 30 years until the sale of
159+the company in 2012. Linens of the Week grew into one of the largest
160+linen supply companies in the country with numerous facilities
161+throughout the East serving the restaurant and hospitality industry. Linens of the Week always
162+remained true to its roots with its headquarters and laundry facility always remaining in the
163+District. At its main plant and headquarters on Lamont Street, it employed 250 local associates
164+and over 900 nationwide.

166+Mr. Bubes and his family previously developed the Linens of the Week site into a multi-family
167+condo/apartment development with over 200 units with construction that began in 2016. Mr.
168+Bubes has many other business interests and has been involved in, supports, and on the boards of
169+many local philanthropic organizations. Among his many passions, his number one passion has
170+always been Washington, DC sports. He and his family have been lifelong fans and season ticket
171+holders of all of the major Washington sports teams. He still attends numerous sporting events
172+for all of the teams every year.
