17		-	RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
18		-	resolution may be cited as the “Clemency Board Dr. Amber Thornton Confirmation Resolution
19		-	of 2024”.

21		-	Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

23		-	Dr. Amber Thornton
24		-	South Dakota Avenue, NE
25		-	Washington, DC 20018
26		-	(Ward 5)

28		-	as the mental-health professional member of the Clemency Board, established by section 203 of
29		-	the Clemency Board Establishment Act of 2018, effective December 13, 2018 (D.C. Law 22-
30		-	197, D.C. Official Code § 24-481.03), for a term to end February 10, 2027.

32		-	Sec. 3. The Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, to the
33		-	nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.

35		-	Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
	340	+	Dr. Amber Thornton is a clinical psychologist at National Children’s
	341	+	Hospital, and a wellness consultant, author, educator, media contributor,
	342	+	public speaker, and strong mental health advocate.
	343	+	Dr. Thornton is deeply passionate about working for the optimal mental
	344	+	health and well-being of children, parents, and families. She is the founder
	345	+	of the Know & G row Podcast, which explores motherhood, parenting,
	346	+	relationships, career, mental health, and the ongoing journey of personal
	347	+	evolution.
	348	+	A Ward 5 resident, Dr. Thornton earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ohio State
