19 | 19 | | Dear Secretary Howard: |
---|
20 | 20 | | |
---|
21 | 21 | | Today, I am introducing the “Gallery Court Designation Act of 2025”. Please find enclosed a |
---|
22 | 22 | | signed copy of the legislation. |
---|
23 | 23 | | |
---|
24 | 24 | | This bill would officially designate the public alley system bounded by 3rd Street, N.E., K Street, |
---|
25 | 25 | | N.E., 4th Street, N.E., and I Street, N.E., in Ward 6 as “Gallery Court”. There is a project currently |
---|
26 | 26 | | underway to construct 4 townhomes that face the public alley system and are across the way |
---|
27 | 27 | | from an art gallery. The developers have done extensive engagement with neighbors and the |
---|
28 | 28 | | community and plan to bring townhomes that align with the neighborhood’s characteristics. |
---|
29 | 29 | | Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6C voted on February 12, 2025 to support the naming of the |
---|
30 | 30 | | alley as “Gallery Court”, noting that the name was selected by a consensus of nearby residents. |
---|
31 | 31 | | |
---|
32 | 32 | | Please feel free to reach out to me or my Legislative Director, Antonio Nunes, with any questions |
---|
33 | 33 | | or for additional information. |
---|
34 | 34 | | |

35 | 35 | | Sincerely, |
