2929 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 16

3131 Section 1. Section 112.219, Florida Statutes, is created 18
3232 to read: 19
3333 112.219 Substitution of work experience for postsecondary 20
3434 educational requirements. — 21
3535 (1) Beginning July 1, 2022, the head of an employing 22
3636 agency may elect to substitute verifiable, related work 23
3737 experience in lieu of postsecondary educational requirements for 24
3838 a position of employment if the person seeking the position of 25

5252 (2) Related work experience may not substitute for any 27
5353 required licensure, certification, or registration required for 28
5454 the position of employment as established by the employing 29
5555 agency and indicated in the advertised description of the 30

5757 (3) If the head of an employi ng agency elects to 32
5858 substitute related work experience for postsecondary educational 33
5959 requirements, the employing agency must include, in all 34
6060 advertisements for the position of employment made by the 35
6161 employing agency, a notice that such substitution is auth orized 36
62-and a description of the related work experience equivalencies 37
63-that may be substituted for the required postsecondary 38
64-education. 39
65- (4) This section does not abridge state and federal laws 40
66-and regulations governing equal opportunity employment. 41
67- (5) For purposes of this section, the term "employing 42
68-agency" means any agency or unit of government of the state or 43
69-any county, municipality, or political subdivision thereof, 44
70-including special districts, that is authorized to employ 45
71-personnel to carry out t he responsibilities of the agency or 46
72-unit of government. 47
73- Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 48
