22	22		experience for postsecondary educational requirements ; 9
23	23		providing advertising requirements relating to 10
24	24		positions of employment; specifying that certain laws 11
25	25		and regulations governing equal opportunity employment 12
26	26		apply; providing a definition; providing an effective 13

29	29		Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 16

31	31		Section 1. Section 112.219, Florida Statutes, is created 18
32	32		to read: 19
33	33		112.219 Substitution of work experience for postsecondary 20
34	34		educational requirements. — 21
35	35		(1) Beginning July 1, 2022, the head of an employing 22
36	36		agency may elect to substitute verifiable, related work 23
37	37		experience in lieu of postsecondary educational requirements for 24
38	38		a position of employment if the person seeking the position of 25

51	51		employment is otherwise qualified for such position. 26
52	52		(2) Related work experience may not substitute for any 27
53	53		required licensure, certification, or registration required for 28
54	54		the position of employment as established by the employing 29
55	55		agency and indicated in the advertised description of the 30
56	56		position of employment. 31
57	57		(3) If the head of an employi ng agency elects to 32
58	58		substitute related work experience for postsecondary educational 33
59	59		requirements, the employing agency must include, in all 34
60	60		advertisements for the position of employment made by the 35
61	61		employing agency, a notice that such substitution is auth orized 36
62		-	and a description of the related work experience equivalencies 37
63		-	that may be substituted for the required postsecondary 38
64		-	education. 39
65		-	(4) This section does not abridge state and federal laws 40
66		-	and regulations governing equal opportunity employment. 41
67		-	(5) For purposes of this section, the term "employing 42
68		-	agency" means any agency or unit of government of the state or 43
69		-	any county, municipality, or political subdivision thereof, 44
70		-	including special districts, that is authorized to employ 45
