CS/HB 531 2022 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb0531-01-c1 Page 1 of 2 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S A bill to be entitled 1 An act relating to Brevard County; providing an 2 exception to general law; requiring the Brevard County 3 Supervisor of Elections to print the party designation 4 on ballots for all candidates for all elections; 5 providing an exception; providing that only qualified 6 electors of the district, ward, precinct, or other 7 geographical designation are eligible to vote in 8 certain elections; providing legislative intent; 9 providing applicability; providing an effective date. 10 11 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12 13 Section 1. (1) Notwithstanding any other state law to the 14 contrary, the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections shall print 15 on the ballot the party designation for all candidates for all 16 elections except for school board or judicial elections. 17 (2) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, for any 18 government unit in Brevard County that provides for the election 19 of members by district, war d, precinct, or other geographical 20 designation, only those voters who are qualified electors of the 21 district, ward, precinct, or other geographical designation are 22 eligible to vote for that candidate in the relevant primary, 23 general, runoff, or other elect ion. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 32
