20	20	veterans; amending s. 379.3751, F.S.; conforming 7
21	21	provisions to changes made by the act; providing an 8
22	22	effective date. 9

24	24	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11

26	26	Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 379.353, Florida 13
27	27	Statutes, is amended to read: 14
28	28	379.353 Recreational licenses and permits; exemptions from 15
29	29	fees and requirements. — 16
30	30	(1)(a) Hunting, freshwater fishing, and saltwater fish ing 17
31	31	licenses and permits shall be issued without fee to a any 18
32	32	resident who is certified or determined : 19
33	33	1.(a) Certified or determined to be totally and 20
34	34	permanently disabled for purposes of workers' compensation under 21
35	35	chapter 440 as verified by an order of a judge of compensation 22
36	36	claims or written confirmation by the carrier providing workers' 23
37	37	compensation benefits, or to be totally and permanently disabled 24
38	38	by the Railroad Retirement Board, by the United States 25

51	51	Department of Veterans Affairs or its predeces sor, or by any 26
52	52	branch of the United States Armed Forces, or who holds a valid 27
53	53	identification card issued under the provisions of s. 295.17, 28
54	54	upon proof of such residency and certification or determination 29
55	55	same. Any license issued under this paragraph after January 1, 30
56	56	1997, expires after 5 years and must be reissued, upon request, 31
57	57	every 5 years thereafter. 32
58	58	2.(b) Certified or determined to be disabled by the United 33
59	59	States Social Security Administration, upon proof of such 34
60	60	residency and certification or deter mination same. Any license 35
61	61	issued under this paragraph after October 1, 1999, expires after 36
62	62	2 years and must be reissued, upon proof of certification of 37
63	63	disability, every 2 years thereafter. 38

65	65	A disability license issued after July 1, 1997, and before July 40
66	66	1, 2000, retains the rights vested thereunder until the license 41
67	67	has expired. 42
68	68	3. In active military service as defined in s. 115.08, 43
69	69	upon proof of such residency and active military service. 44
70	70	4. An honorably discharged veteran of the United States 45
71	71	Armed Forces, the United States Coast Guard, military reserves, 46
72	72	the Florida National Guard, or the United States Coast Guard 47
73	73	Reserve, upon proof of such residency and honorable discharge. 48
74	74	(b) Hunting, freshwater fishing, and saltwater fishing 49
75	75	licenses and permits shall be issued at a 50 percent discount to 50

89	89	1. In active military service as defined in s. 115.08, 52

100	100	(f) An alligator trapping license or alligator trapping 63
101	101	agent license shall be issued without fee to a any disabled 64
102	102	resident who meets the requirements of s. 379.353(1)(a) s. 65
