5252 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 27

5454 Section 1. Paragraphs (e) and (f) of subsection (1) of 29
5555 section 472.0101, Florida Statutes are amended, and paragraph 30
5656 (d) of that subsection is republi shed, to read: 31
5757 472.0101 Foreign-trained professionals; special 32
5858 examination and license provisions. — 33
5959 (1) When not otherwise provided by law, the department 34
6060 shall by rule provide procedures under which exiled 35
6161 professionals may be examined under this chap ter. A person is 36
6262 eligible for the examination if the exiled professional: 37
6363 (d) Demonstrates to the department, through submission of 38
6464 documentation verified by the applicant's respective 39
6565 professional association in exile, that the applicant was 40
6666 graduated with an appropriate professional or occupational 41
6767 degree from a college or university. However, the department may 42
6868 not require receipt of any documentation from the Republic of 43
6969 Cuba as a condition of eligibility under this section; 44
7070 (e) A person who has lawfully practiced the profession for 45
7171 at least 3 years may substitute such practice of the profession 46
7272 for the education requirement under paragraph (d) ; 47
7373 (f) Before Prior to 1980, successfully completed an 48
7474 approved course of study pursuant to chapters 74 -105 and 75-177, 49

8888 Section 2. Subsection (2) of section 472.013, Florida 51

9090 472.013 Examinations, prerequisites. — 53
9191 (2) An applicant shall be entitled to take the licensure 54
9292 examination to practice in this stat e as a surveyor and mapper 55
9393 if the applicant is of good moral character and has satisfied 56
9494 one of the following requirements: 57
9595 (a) The applicant has received a bachelor's degree, its 58
9696 equivalent, or higher in surveying and mapping or a similarly 59
9797 titled program, including, but not limited to, geomatics, 60
9898 geomatics engineering, and land surveying, from a college or 61
9999 university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the 62
100100 United States Department of Education board and has a specific 63
101101 experience record of 4 or more years as a subordinate to a 64
102102 professional surveyor and mapper in the active practice of 65
103103 surveying and mapping, which experience is of a nature 66
104104 indicating that the applicant was in responsible charge of the 67
105105 accuracy and correctness of the surveying a nd mapping work 68
106106 performed. Work experience acquired as a part of the education 69
107107 requirement may not be construed as experience in responsible 70
108108 charge. 71
109109 (b) The applicant has received a bachelor's degree, its 72
110110 equivalent, or higher in a course of study, other than in 73
111111 surveying and mapping, at a an accredited college or university 74
