meals; amending s. 595.405, F.S.; requiring the 3
Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to 4
provide specified reimbursements to sponsors for 5
certain breakfast meals; providing an effective date. 6

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Subsections (6), (7), and (8) of section 10
595.405, Florida Statutes, are re numbered as subsections (7), 11
(8), and (9), respectively, and a new subsection (6) is added to 12
that section to read: 13
595.405 School nutrition program requirements. — 14
(6) To eliminate the copayment for reduced -price breakfast 15
meals, the department shall r eimburse sponsors the greater of 30 16
cents or the difference between the federal School Breakfast 17
Program free breakfast and reduced -price breakfast reimbursement 18
rates for each breakfast meal that meets the requirements of 19
federal law and department rules and is served to a student who 20
qualifies for reduced -price meals. 21
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 22
