An act relating to the Town of Loxahatchee Groves, 2
Palm Beach County; providing an exception to general 3
law; prohibiting the sale and use of fireworks within 4
a specified area of the Town of Loxahatchee Groves 5
except under specified circumstances; providing 6
applicability; providing an effective date. 7

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

Section 1. Notwithstanding ss. 791.001 and 791. 08, Florida 11
Statutes, the sale and use of fireworks within the Agricultural -12
Residential zoned area of the Town of Loxahatchee Groves are 13
prohibited on all days of the year except for the following: 14
(1) Supervised public displays within the Agricultural -15
Residential zoned area of the Town of Loxahatchee Groves , where 16
such displays are handled by a competent operator to be approved 17
by the chiefs of police and fire departments of the Town of 18
Loxahatchee Groves and shall be of such a character, and so 19
located, discharged, or fired as in the opinion of the chief of 20
the fire department, after proper inspection, shall not be 21
hazardous to property or endanger any person. Application for 22
permits shall be made in writing at least 15 days in advance of 23
the date of the display. After such permit is granted, sales, 24
possession, use, and distribution of fireworks for such display 25

shall be lawful for that purpose only. No permit granted 26
hereunder shall be transferable. 27
(2) Nothing herein is intended to or shall prevent the 28
importation, purchase, sale, or use of fireworks for 29
agricultural purposes as set forth in s. 791.07, Florida 30
Statutes. 31
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 32
