A resolution expressing the State of Florida's 2
unwavering support for the State of Israel and Jewish 3
citizens in Florida and condemning Hamas and anti -4
Semitism. 5

WHEREAS, beginning on October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked the 7
State of Israel, indiscriminately raping, torturing, and killing 8
over 1,400 innocent persons, including Israelis, Americans, and 9
other nationals, among whom were babies and Holocaust survivors, 10
and taking 240 Israelis, Americans, and other civilians as 11
hostages, and 12
WHEREAS, since October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists and their 13
allies have launched over 7,400 rockets into southern and 14
central Israel, the sole goal of which was to kill Israeli 15
civilians, and 16
WHEREAS, Hamas and Iranian leadership have called for the 17
extermination of Israelis, Americans, Jews, and Christians 18
around the world and the establishment of a global Islamic 19
caliphate, and 20
WHEREAS, the stated goal of Hamas and its allies is the 21
complete and total destruction of the State of Israel and the 22
Jewish people, and 23
WHEREAS, the State of Florida recognizes the right and 24
obligation of the State of Israel to defend itself and to exist 25

as a sovereign and independent Jewish state, with the fu ll 26
rights and privileges afforded to all nations under 27
international law, and 28
WHEREAS, the State of Florida prays for the people of the 29
State of Israel and all those in the world who care for the 30
State of Israel, as Israel has formally declared war agains t 31
Hamas following this heinous and unprecedented attack, and 32
WHEREAS, across the world, there has been an explosive rise 33
in virulent anti-Semitism and violence against Jewish people, 34
including in Florida and across the United States of America, 35
and 36
WHEREAS, student organizations on college and university 37
campuses are hosting and participating in demonstrations against 38
the State of Israel, expressing support for the terrorist 39
actions of Hamas, and increasing the usage of anti -Semitic 40
rhetoric, including ca lling for violence against all Jewish 41
people in Florida, and 42
WHEREAS, the rise in anti -Semitic demonstrations on college 43
campuses, near houses of worship, and public demonstrations 44
across the state and across the United States has created a 45
frightening environment for Jewish students, Jewish families, 46
and Jewish people across the nation, and 47
WHEREAS, anti-Semitic protesters have increased hateful 48
displays, using swastikas and calls for violence against Jewish 49

people by holding public demonstrations and pr ojecting these 50
messages in plain view of the public, and 51
WHEREAS, the rise in antisemitic rhetoric has gone beyond 52
campus protests and even into the halls of the United States 53
Congress, where some elected officials, by votes and through 54
their own words, have opposed supporting our greatest ally, the 55
State of Israel, NOW, THEREFORE, 56

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of 58
Florida: 59

That the Florida House of Representatives condemns the 61
unprovoked, barbaric attack by Hamas against the State of Israel 62
and its citizens and supports Israel's right to defend itself 63
and protect its citizens from indiscriminate violence and 64
terrorism by eliminating Hamas without ceasefire or pause. 65
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Florida House of Repr esentatives 66
stands in solidarity with its ally, the State of Israel, the 67
Israeli people, and Jewish citizens across the State of Florida 68
and the United States of America. 69
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida House of 70
Representatives condemns proliferat ion of anti-Semitic rhetoric 71
and public displays, which create unsafe learning and working 72
environments for Jewish citizens, whether in Congress or on 73
college campuses. 74

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida House of 75
Representatives mourns the loss of li fe suffered by Israelis, 76
Americans, and other nationals injured or killed in Hamas' 77
unprovoked and barbaric attack on the State of Israel. 78
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida House of 79
Representatives demands the United States Government end all 80
financial support, whether directly or indirectly, to 81
Palestinian and Iranian affiliated organizations. 82
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with 83
the Seal of the Florida House of Representatives affixed, be 84
presented to the President of the Un ited States, each member of 85
the Florida delegation to the United States Congress, and the 86
Ambassador of the State of Israel to the United States as a 87
testament to the enduring partnership between our states and the 88
unwavering support of the State of Florid a for the State of 89
Israel and the Jewish diaspora. 90
