2626 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 13

2828 Section 1. Subsection (11) is added to section 380.0555, 15
2929 Florida Statutes, to read: 16
3030 380.0555 Apalachicola Bay Area; protection and designation 17
3131 as area of critical state concern. — 18
3232 (11) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AGREEMENTS. -Beginning in the 19
3333 2023-2024 fiscal year and continuing through the 2027 -2028 20
3434 fiscal year, the Department of Environmental Protection may 21
3535 expend up to $5 million each fiscal year for the purpose of 22
3636 entering into financial assistance agreements with the City of 23
3737 Apalachicola to implement projects that improve surface water 24
3838 and groundwater quality within the Apalachicola Bay Area of 25

5151 Critical State Concern, incl uding the construction of stormwater 26
5252 management facilities and central sewage collection facilities, 27
