certain school district construction projects are 4
exempt from the total cost per student station 5
requirements; providing an effective date. 6

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Paragraph (e) is added to subsection (6) of 10
section 1013.64, Florida Statutes, to read: 11
1013.64 Funds for comprehensive educational plant needs; 12
construction cost maximums for school district capital 13
projects.—Allocations from the Public Education Capital Outlay 14
and Debt Service Trust Fund to the various boards for capital 15
outlay projects shall be determined as follows: 16

(e) Notwithstanding the requirements of this subsection, 18
an unfinished construction project for new construction of 19
educational plant space that was started on or before July 1, 20
2026, is exempt from the total cost per student station 21
requirements established in paragraph (b). 22
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023. 23
