2222 full attention and support as they call for women, life, and 11

2424 WHEREAS, the people of Iran are calling for a new 13
2525 government that is democratically elected, free, and where the 14
2626 people have the right to self -determination, and 15
2727 WHEREAS, according to the United States -based human rights 16
2828 monitor Human Rights Activists News Agency, at least 469 people, 17
2929 including 63 children and 32 women, have been killed since 18
3030 demonstrations began in Iran on September 17th, 2022, and 19
3131 thousands of people have been arrested, and 20
3232 WHEREAS, the protests began after the brutal murder of 21
3333 Mahsa "Jina" Amini by the morality police for not wearing her 22
3434 hijab correctly, and 23
3535 WHEREAS, the activism of millions worldwide has resulted in 24
3636 the Islamic Republic of Iran's removal from the United Nations 25 

4848 launched by the United Nations into the ongoing deadly violence 27

5050 WHEREAS, the United States is encouraged to stop all 29
5151 discussions on the Iran nuclear agreement, formally known as the 30
5252 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, to continue to sanction 31
5353 members of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic 32
5454 Revolutionary Guard Corps, and to continue to amplify the voices 33
5555 and the will of the people of Iran by maintaining Internet 34
5656 access so that Iranians may continue to expose the injustices of 35

5858 WHEREAS, federal representatives should continue to push 37
5959 the United Nations' investigative mechanism for crimes against 38
