2222 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

2424 Section 1. Subsection (3) of section 4 of chapter 2006 -11
2525 317, Laws of Florida, is amended to read: 12
2626 Section 4. Initial governing board; board of supervisors; 13
2727 members and meetings; organization; powers; duties; terms of 14
2828 office; related election requirements. — 15
2929 (3) Members of the board of supervisors shall be known as 16
3030 supervisors and, upon entering into office, shall take and 17
3131 subscribe to the oath of office as prescribed by section 876.05, 18
3232 Florida Statutes. Members of the board shall be subject to 19
3333 ethics and conflict of interest laws of the state that apply to 20
3434 all local public officers. They shall hold office for terms of 2 21
3535 years each and until their successors are chosen and qualified. 22
3636 Effective November 2024, candidates seeking to run for 23
3737 membership on the board shall be elected as follows: 24
3838 (a) Candidates for seats 1 a nd 2 shall be elected on a 25

5151 one-time basis for an initial term of 2 years each, after which, 26
5252 commencing in 2026, candidates for seats 1 and 2 shall be 27

5454 (b) Candidates for seats 3, 4, and 5 shall be elected for 29

5656 (c) Commencing with the November 2026 general election, 31
5757 all board members shall hold office for a term of 4 years each 32

6060 If, during the term of office, a vacancy occurs, the remaining 35
