upward the value of a motor vehicle owned by a natural 4

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 222.25, Florida 10
Statutes, is amended to read: 11
222.25 Other individual propert y of natural persons exempt 12
from legal process.—The following property is exempt from 13
attachment, garnishment, or other legal process: 14
(1) A debtor's interest, not to exceed $5,000 $1,000 in 15
value, in a single motor vehicle as defined in s. 320.01(1) 16
320.01. 17
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023. 18
