1717 WHEREAS, in 1982, following his graduation and 6
1818 commissioning from the United States Air Force Academy, Major 7
1919 General James O. Eifert began his active duty military career as 8
2020 a fighter jet pilot, a position he would hold for 13 years, and 9
2121 WHEREAS, in 1995, Major General Eifert joined the Florida 10
2222 Air National Guard as an F -15 Weapons and Tactics Officer, and 11
2323 since then he has held numerous positions including Commander of 12
2424 the 125th Operations Group, Vice Commander and Commander of the 13
2525 125th Fighter Wing, Ass istant Adjutant General -Air, and 14
2626 Commander of the Florida Air National Guard, and 15
2727 WHEREAS, Major General Eifert served as the Air National 16
2828 Guard Assistant to the Commander, Pacific Air Forces, and 17
2929 WHEREAS, as the chair of both the Air Dominance Weapons 18
3030 Systems Council and the National Strategic Planning System Force 19
3131 Structure Committee, Major General Eifert worked F -15/F-22 20
3232 issues and concerns nationwide and advised the Deputy Director 21
3333 of the Air National Guard on roles and missions, respectively, 22

3535 WHEREAS, Major General Eifert also served on the National 24

4848 Advisor, and on the Florida Defense Support Task Force as the 27

5050 WHEREAS, over the course of his prominent military career, 29
5151 Major General Eifert has flown more than 3,800 hours, including 30
5252 63 combat hours, and has received numerous awards and 31
5353 decorations, including the Air Force Distinguished Servic e 32
5454 Medal, Legion of Merit, and Meritorious Service Medal with three 33
5555 oak leaf clusters, among numerous others, and 34
5656 WHEREAS, during his tenure as the Adjutant General of 35
5757 Florida, Major General Eifert provided exemplary guidance and 36
5858 leadership during two majo r hurricanes, several lesser 37
5959 hurricanes and natural disasters, and an unprecedented response 38
6060 to the COVID-19 pandemic, and 39
6161 WHEREAS, through his tireless energy and commitment, Major 40
6262 General Eifert contributed immeasurably to the readiness and 41
6363 well-being of members of the Air National Guard and the 42
6464 Department of Military Affairs, and 43
6565 WHEREAS, Major General Eifert will retire from his 44
6666 distinguished military career on April 22, 2023, NOW, THEREFORE, 45

8787 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be 56
8888 presented to Major General James O. Eifert as a tangible token 57
8989 of the sentiments expressed herein. 58
