14	14	Eifert, the Adjutant General of Florida, on the 3
15	15	occasion of his retirement on April 22, 2023. 4

17	17	WHEREAS, in 1982, following his graduation and 6
18	18	commissioning from the United States Air Force Academy, Major 7
19	19	General James O. Eifert began his active duty military career as 8
20	20	a fighter jet pilot, a position he would hold for 13 years, and 9
21	21	WHEREAS, in 1995, Major General Eifert joined the Florida 10
22	22	Air National Guard as an F -15 Weapons and Tactics Officer, and 11
23	23	since then he has held numerous positions including Commander of 12
24	24	the 125th Operations Group, Vice Commander and Commander of the 13
25	25	125th Fighter Wing, Ass istant Adjutant General -Air, and 14
26	26	Commander of the Florida Air National Guard, and 15
27	27	WHEREAS, Major General Eifert served as the Air National 16
28	28	Guard Assistant to the Commander, Pacific Air Forces, and 17
29	29	WHEREAS, as the chair of both the Air Dominance Weapons 18
30	30	Systems Council and the National Strategic Planning System Force 19
31	31	Structure Committee, Major General Eifert worked F -15/F-22 20
32	32	issues and concerns nationwide and advised the Deputy Director 21
33	33	of the Air National Guard on roles and missions, respectively, 22
34	34	and 23
35	35	WHEREAS, Major General Eifert also served on the National 24
36	36	Guard Counterdrug Program General Officer Advisory Council, on 25 

47	47	the Air National Guard Strategic Planning System as a TAG Senior 26
48	48	Advisor, and on the Florida Defense Support Task Force as the 27
49	49	Governor's representative, and 28
50	50	WHEREAS, over the course of his prominent military career, 29
51	51	Major General Eifert has flown more than 3,800 hours, including 30
52	52	63 combat hours, and has received numerous awards and 31
53	53	decorations, including the Air Force Distinguished Servic e 32
54	54	Medal, Legion of Merit, and Meritorious Service Medal with three 33
55	55	oak leaf clusters, among numerous others, and 34
56	56	WHEREAS, during his tenure as the Adjutant General of 35
57	57	Florida, Major General Eifert provided exemplary guidance and 36
58	58	leadership during two majo r hurricanes, several lesser 37
59	59	hurricanes and natural disasters, and an unprecedented response 38
60	60	to the COVID-19 pandemic, and 39
61	61	WHEREAS, through his tireless energy and commitment, Major 40
62	62	General Eifert contributed immeasurably to the readiness and 41
63	63	well-being of members of the Air National Guard and the 42
64	64	Department of Military Affairs, and 43
65	65	WHEREAS, Major General Eifert will retire from his 44
66	66	distinguished military career on April 22, 2023, NOW, THEREFORE, 45

83	83	service to the state and nation, as well as his great sacrifice 52
84	84	in protecting the freedoms enjoyed by all Americ an citizens, and 53
85	85	congratulated on the occasion of his retirement on April 22, 54

87	87	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be 56
88	88	presented to Major General James O. Eifert as a tangible token 57
89	89	of the sentiments expressed herein. 58
