| 21 | 21 | | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 10 |

| 23 | 23 | | Section 1. (1) The Legislature finds that the Town of 12 |

| 24 | 24 | | Orchid in Indian River County currently owns no public meeting 13 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | facilities within its jurisdiction and has no reasonable 14 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | prospects for doing so in the future. 15 |

| 27 | 27 | | (2) Notwithstanding s. 166.0213(1), Florida Statutes, the 16 |

| 28 | 28 | | Town of Orchid in Indian River County may hold public meetings 17 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | within 5 miles of its exterior jurisdictional boundary as long 18 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | as its resident population does not exceed 1,250 persons. 19 |

| 31 | 31 | | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 20 |
