An act relating to specialty license plates; amending 2 
s. 320.08058, F.S.; directing the Department of 3 
Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop a 4 
Clearwater Marine Aquarium license plate; providing 5 
for distribution and use of fees collected from the 6 
sale of the plate; providing an effective date. 7

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9 
 10 
 Section 1.  Subsection (127) is added to secti on 320.08058, 11 
Florida Statutes, to read: 12 
 320.08058  Specialty license plates. — 13 
 (127)  CLEARWATER MARINE AQUARIUM LICENSE PLATES. — 14 
 (a)  The department shall develop a Clearwater Marine 15 
Aquarium license plate as provided in this section and s. 16 
320.08053. The plate must bear the colors and design approved by 17 
the department. The word "Florida" must appear at the top of the 18 
plate, and the words "Clearwater Marine Aquarium" must appear at 19 
the bottom of the plate. 20 
 (b)  The annual use fees from the sale of the plate shall 21 
be distributed to Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Inc., a Florida 22 
nonprofit corporation under s. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue 23 
Code, which may use up to 10 percent of the fees for the 24 
administration, promotion, and marketing of the plate. The 25

remaining fees must be used by Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Inc., 26 
to fund its efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and release marine 27 
life; provide environmental education; conduct research; and 28 
promote conservation strategies. 29 
 Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2024. 30
