2121 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

2323 Section 1. Section 285.195, Florida Statutes, is created 10
2424 to read: 11
25- 285.195 State recognition of Indian tribes and bands. —This 12
26-state recognizes the Santa Rosa Band of the Lower Muscogee. 13
27-State recognition of an Indian tribe or band under this section 14
28-may not be construed to create any basis or authority not 15
29-otherwise provided by law for an Indian tribe or band to 16
30-establish or promote any form of otherwise prohibited gaming 17
31-activity. State cultural recognition of an Indian tribe or band 18
32-under this section does not provide those recognized with any 19
33-authority or ability to consult on issues related to state 20
34-undertakings including those outli ned in s. 267.031 or carried 21
35-out under rule 1A-46, F.A.C., and does not provide any authority 22
36-or ability to consult on activities carried out by the State 23
37-Archaeologist as specified in s. 872.05. 24
38- Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 25

26+ (1) This state recognizes the following Indian tribes and 13
27+bands: 14
28+ (a) The Santa Rosa Band of the Lower Muscogee. 15
29+ (b) The Muscogee Nation of Florida. 16
30+ (c) Lower Chattahoochee Band of Yuchi Indians. 17
31+ (2) State recognition of an Indian tribe or band under 18
32+this section may not be construed to create any basis or 19
33+authority not otherwise provided by law for an Indian tribe or 20
34+band to establish or promote any form of otherwise prohibited 21
35+gaming activity or to claim any interest in land or real estate. 22
36+ Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 23
