2323 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 10

2525 Section 1. Subsection (1 ) of section 196.1975, Florida 12
2626 Statutes, is amended to read: 13
2727 196.1975 Exemption for property used by nonprofit homes 14
2828 for the aged.—Nonprofit homes for the aged are exempt to the 15
2929 extent that they meet the following criteria: 16
3030 (1) The applicant must be a corporation not for profit 17
3131 under pursuant to chapter 617 or a Florida limited partnership, 18
3232 the sole general partner of which is a corporation not for 19
3333 profit under pursuant to chapter 617 or an entity not licensed 20
3434 under chapter 429 and wholly owned by a cor poration not for 21
3535 profit under chapter 617 , and the corporation not for profit 22
3636 must have been exempt as of January 1 of the year for which 23
3737 exemption from ad valorem property taxes is requested from 24
3838 federal income taxation by having qualified as an exempt 25

5454 Section 2. The amendments made by this act to s. 29
5555 196.1975(1), Florida Statute s, first apply to the 2025 ad 30

5757 Section 3. This act shall take effect January 1, 2025. 32
