A joint resolution proposing the creation of Section 2 
33 of Article X of the State Constitution to prohibit 3 
the use of traffic infraction detectors within this 4 
state. 5

Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 7 
 8 
 That the following creation of Section 33 of Article X of 9 
the State Constitution is agreed to and shall be submitted to 10 
the electors of this state for approval or rejection at the n ext 11 
general election or at an earlier special election specifically 12 
authorized by law for that purpose: 13 
ARTICLE X 14 
MISCELLANEOUS 15 
 SECTION 33.  Use of traffic infraction detectors 16 
prohibited.— 17 
 (a)  The use of traffic infraction detectors, also known as 18 
"red-light cameras," is prohibited within this state. 19 
 (b)  For purposes of this section, the term "traffic 20 
infraction detector" or "red -light camera" means any system 21 
designed to work in conjunction with a traffic control signal to 22 
record any image or video o f any portion of a motor vehicle at 23 
the time the vehicle fails to stop behind the stop bar or 24

clearly marked stop line when facing a traffic control signal 25

 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following statement be 27 
placed on the ballot: 28 
CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 29 
ARTICLE 33, SECTION X 30 
 USE OF TRAFFIC INFRA CTION DETECTORS PROH IBITED.—Proposing 31 
an amendment to the State Constitution to prohibit the use 32 
within this state of traffic infraction detectors, also known as 33 
"red-light cameras," which are used to record any image or video 34 
of any portion of a motor vehicle that fails to stop behind the 35 
clearly marked stop line when facing a steady red light. 36
