Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 7

Section 1. Subsection (2) of section 102.012, Florida 9
Statutes, is amended to read: 10
102.012 Inspectors and clerks to conduct elections. — 11
(2) Each member of the election board shall be able to 12
read and write the English language and shall be a registered 13
qualified elector of the county in which the member is appointed 14
or a person who has preregistered to vote, pursuant to s. 15
97.041(1)(b), in the county in whi ch the member is appointed. An 16
No election board may not shall be composed solely of members of 17
one political party and must include at least one member from 18
each of the two largest political parties in the state ; however, 19
in any primary in which only one party has candidates appearing 20
on the ballot, all clerks and inspectors may be of that party. 21
Any person whose name appears as an opposed candidate for any 22
office shall not be eligible to serve on an election board. 23
Section 2. This act shall take effec t July 1, 2024. 24
