2626 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 13

2828 Section 1. Section 1001.2921, Florida Statutes, is created 15
2929 to read: 16
3030 1001.2921 Security funding for Je wish day schools and 17
3131 preschools.— 18
3232 (1) As authorized by and consistent with funds 19
3333 appropriated in the General Appropriations Act, the Department 20
3434 of Education shall establish a program to provide funds to make 21
3535 full-time Jewish day schools and preschools in the state secure 22
3636 with professional security hardening, as needed, to better 23
3737 secure facilities of such schools and preschools and to protect 24
3838 their students. Based on a risk assessment by law enforcement or 25

5151 a private security company, recurring funds shall be used 26

5353 (a) The purchase and installation of security cameras, 28
5454 perimeter lighting, perimeter fencing, and shatter -resistant 29

5656 (b) Hiring or contracting with security personnel who are 31
5757 licensed and regulated by the state and in sured. 32
5858 (c) Expenses relating to transportation to minimize 33
5959 security exposure of staff, parents, and students. 34
6060 (d) Other nonhardening security measures, including, but 35
6161 not limited to providing professional detection, prevention, and 36
6262 security services to such schools and preschools. 37
6363 (2) The State Board of Education may adopt rules to 38
6464 administer this section. 39
6565 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 40
