| 23 | 23 | Section 1. Subsection (2) of section 213.12, Florida 10 | |
| 24 | 24 | Statutes, is amended to read: 11 | |
| 25 | 25 | 213.12 Certain state-chartered financial institutions; 12 | |
| 26 | 26 | immunity from certain state and local taxes. — 13 | |
| 27 | 27 | (2)(a) All credit unions and community banks now or 14 | |
| 28 | 28 | hereafter chartered under the laws of the state shall have the 15 | |
| 29 | 29 | same immunity from state and local taxation that fede rally 16 | |
| 30 | 30 | chartered credit unions have from time to time under the 17 | |
| 31 | 31 | statutes of the United States. 18 | |
| 32 | 32 | (b) For purposes of this subsection, "community bank" 19 | |
| 33 | 33 | means a bank which: 20 | |
| 34 | 34 | 1. Does not have a federal charter and is not chartered or 21 | |
| 35 | 35 | licensed in any other sta te; or 22 | |
| 36 | 36 | 2. Has a federal charter and is headquartered only in this 23 | |
| 37 | 37 | state. 24 | |
| 38 | 38 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 25 |
