2323 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 10

2525 Section 1. Paragraph (f) is add ed to subsection (7) of 12
2626 section 381.986, Florida Statutes, to read: 13
2727 381.986 Medical use of marijuana. — 14
2828 (7) IDENTIFICATION CARDS. — 15
29- (f) The department may not charge a fee for the issuance, 16
30-replacement, or renewal of an identification card for a service -17
31-disabled veteran, as defined in s. 295.187(3), if the veteran's 18
32-DD-214 form is included with the application for the 19
33-identification card. 20
34- Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 21
29+ (f) A qualified patient who is a veteran, as defined in s. 16
30+1.01(14), is not required to pay the fee for the issuance or 17
31+renewal of a medical marijuana use registry identification card. 18
32+A qualified patient must provide the department with a copy of 19
33+one of the following as proof of identification: 20
34+ 1. A DD Form 214, issued by the United States Department 21
35+of Defense; 22
36+ 2. A veteran health identification card, issued by the 23
37+United States Department of Veterans Affairs; or 24
