2424 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11

2626 Section 1. Subsection (9) of section 1003.4282, Florida 13
2727 Statutes, is amended to read: 14
2828 1003.4282 Requirements for a standard high school 15
2929 diploma.— 16
3030 (9) CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION GRADUATION PATHWAY 17
3131 OPTION.—Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, A student is 18
3232 eligible to complete an alternative pathway to earning a 19
3333 standard high school diploma through the Career and Technical 20
3434 Education (CTE) pathway option. Receipt of a standard high 21
3535 school diploma awarded through the CTE pathway option requires 22
3636 the student's successful completion of at least 18 credits. A 23
3737 student completing the CTE pathway option must earn at least a 24
3838 cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. 25

5151 (a) In order for a student to satisfy the req uirements of 26
5252 the CTE pathway option, he or she must meet the GPA requirement 27

5454 1. Meet the requirements in paragraphs (3)(a) -(d) and, 29
5555 additionally, for students entering grade 9 in the 2023 -2024 30
5656 school year and thereafter, paragraph (3)(h) . For purposes of 31
5757 earning a standard high school diploma pursuant to this 32
5858 subsection, a student may meet the Algebra 1 EOC assessment 33
5959 requirement in paragraph (3)(b) by earning a 97 or higher on the 34
6060 Mathematics Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) ; 35
6161 2. Complete two credits in career and technical education. 36
6262 The courses must result in a program completion and an industry 37
6363 certification; and 38
6464 3.a. For a student who enters grade 9 before the 2023 -2024 39
6565 school year, complete two credits in electives or work -based 40
