2424 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11

2626 Section 1. Section 125.0295, Florida Statutes, is created 13
2727 to read: 14
2828 125.0295 Automated external defibrillator required for 15
2929 parks and youth recreation or sports facilities owned or 16
3030 operated by a county.— 17
3131 (1) Each park and youth recreation or sports facility 18
3232 owned or operated by a county shall have on the premises at all 19
3333 times a functioning automated external defibrillator. 20
3434 (2) Each park and youth recreation or sports facility 21
3535 owned or operated by a county shall ensure that employees and 22
3636 volunteers at such parks and facilities are properly trained in 23
3737 accordance with s. 401.2915(2)(a) and shall notify the local 24
3838 emergency medical services medical director or the local public 25

5151 safety answering point, as defined in s. 365.172(3), of the 26

5454 (3) A volunteer who uses an automated external 29
5555 defibrillator to render emergency care or to respond in a 30
5656 perceived medical emergency is immun e from civil liability 31
5757 pursuant to ss. 768.13 and 768.1325. 32
5858 Section 2. Section 166.0496, Florida Statutes, is created 33

6060 166.0496 Automated external defibrillator required for 35
6161 municipality owned or operated parks and youth recreation or 36
6262 sports facilities.— 37
6363 (1) Each municipality owned or operated park and youth 38
6464 recreation or sports facility must have on the premises at all 39
6565 times a functioning automated external defibrillator. 40
6666 (2) A municipality that provides an automated external 41
6767 defibrillator shall ensure that employees and volunteers are 42
6868 properly trained in accordance with s. 401.2915. 43
6969 (3) The location of each automated external defibrillator 44
7070 shall be registered with a local emergency medical services 45
7171 medical director. 46
7272 (4) The use of automated external defibrillators by 47
7373 volunteers shall be covered under the provisions of ss. 768.13 48
7474 and 768.1325. 49
7575 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 50
