An act relating to a review under the Open Government 2 
Sunset Review Act; amending s. 39.202, F.S., which 3 
provides an exemption from public record requirements 4 
for other identifying information with respect to any 5 
person reporting child abuse, abandonment, or neglect, 6 
except under certain circumstances; removing the 7 
scheduled repeal of the exemption; providing an 8 
effective date. 9

Be It Enacted by the Legislat ure of the State of Florida: 11 
 12 
 Section 1.  Subsection (10) of section 39.202, Florida 13 
Statutes, is amended to read: 14 
 39.202  Confidentiality of reports and records in cases of 15 
child abuse or neglect; exception. — 16 
 (10)  The expansion of the public records exemption under 17 
this section to include other identifying information with 18 
respect to any person reporting child abuse, abandonment, or 19 
neglect is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act in 20 
accordance with s. 119.15 and shall stand repealed on Oc tober 2, 21 
2024, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment 22 
by the Legislature. If the expansion of the exemption is not 23 
saved from repeal, this section shall revert to that in 24 
existence on June 30, 2019, except that any other amendments 25

made to this section, other than by this act, are preserved and 26 
continue to operate to the extent that such amendments are not 27 
dependent upon the portions of text that expire under this 28 
subsection. 29 
 Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2024. 30
