Section 97.0585, Florida Statutes, is amended 13 to read: 14 97.0585 Public records exemption; information regarding 15 voters and voter registration; confidentiality. — 16 (1) The following infor mation held by an agency, as 17 defined in s. 119.011, and obtained for the purpose of voter 18 registration is confidential and exempt from s. 119.07(1) and s. 19 24(a), Art. I of the State Constitution and may be used only for 20 purposes of voter registration: 21 (a) All declinations to register to vote made pursuant to 22 ss. 97.057 and 97.058. 23 (b) Information relating to the place where a person 24 registered to vote or where a person updated a voter 25 ENROLLED CS/HB 7003 2024 Legislature CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb7003-02-er Page 2 of 2 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S registration. 26 (c) The social security number, driver license number , and 27 Florida identification number of a voter registration applicant 28 or voter. 29 (d) All information concerning preregistered voter 30 registration applicants who are 16 or 17 years of age. This 31 paragraph is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act i n 32 accordance with s. 119.15 and shall stand repealed on October 2, 33 2024, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment 34 by the Legislature. 35 (2) The signature of a voter registration applicant or a 36 voter is exempt from the copying requirements of s. 119.07(1) 37 and s. 24(a), Art. I of the State Constitution. 38 (3) Information made confidential and exempt under this 39 section may be disclosed to another governmental entity if 40 disclosure is necessary for the receiving entity to perform any 41 required duties directly related to election administration. 42 (4)(3) This section applies to information held by an 43 agency before, on, or after the effective date of this 44 exemption. 45 Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2024. 46
