An act relating to parole; amending s. 947.165, F.S.; 2 
requiring the Florida Commission on Offender Review to 3 
provide a specified statistical analysis to the 4 
Legislature; amending s. 947.174, F.S.; requiring the 5 
Department of Corrections to provide specified 6 
information to the commission; requiring the 7 
commission to review specified information in certain 8 
circumstances; providing an effective date. 9

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11 
 12 
 Section 1.  Subsection (2) of section 947.165, Florida 13 
Statutes, is amended to read: 14 
 947.165  Objective parole guidelines. — 15 
 (2)  At least once a year, the commission shall review the 16 
objective parole guidelines and make any revisions considered 17 
necessary by virtue of statistical analysis of commission 18 
actions, which analysis uses acceptable research and 19 
methodology. Upon completion of the review, the commission must 20 
provide the statistical analysis to the President of the Senate 21 
and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. 22 
 Section 2.  Subsection (3) of section 947.174, Florida 23 
Statutes, is amended to read: 24 
 947.174  Subsequent interviews. — 25

 (3)  The department shall, within a reasonable amount o f 26 
time, make available and bring to the attention of the 27 
commission such information as is deemed important to the review 28 
of the presumptive parole release date, including, but not 29 
limited to, current progress reports, psychological reports, and 30 
disciplinary reports, as well as information regarding an 31 
inmate's use of vocational training, substance abuse treatment, 32 
and educational and other self -betterment programs. The 33 
commission must review such information in determining whether 34 
to modify an inmate's pre sumptive parole release date . 35 
 Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 36
