amending s. 1004.098, F.S.; defining the term "final 4
group of applicants"; providing an effective date. 5

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 7

Section 1. Present subsections (1), (2), and (3) of 9
section 1004.098, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as 10
subsections (2), (3), and ( 4), respectively, a new subsection 11
(1) is added to that section, and paragraph (a) of present 12
subsection (2) of that section is amended, to read: 13
1004.098 Applicants for president of a state university or 14
Florida College System institution; public record s exemption; 15
public meetings exemption. — 16
(1) For the purposes of this section, the term "final 17
group of applicants" means no fewer than two applicants who will 18
receive final consideration for president of a state university 19
or Florida College System inst itution. 20
(3)(a)(2)(a) Any portion of a meeting held for the purpose 21
of identifying or vetting applicants for president of a state 22
university or a Florida College System institution, including 23
any portion of a meeting which would disclose personal 24
identifying information of such applicants which is otherwise 25

confidential and exempt under subsection (2) (1), is exempt from 26
s. 286.011 and s. 24(b), Art. I of the State Constitution. 27
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 28
