A bill to be entitled 1 
An act relating to sudden cardiac arrest informational 2 
posters; creating s. 381.992, F.S.; requiring the 3 
Department of Health to create an informational poster 4 
relating to the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest and 5 
make such poster electronically available; providing 6 
requirements for such poster; defining the terms 7 
"business" and "state agency"; providing rulemaking 8 
authority; providing an effective date. 9

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11 
 12 
 Section 1.  Section 381.992, Florida Statutes, is created 13 
to read: 14 
 381.992  Sudden cardiac arrest informational posters. —The 15 
Department of Health shall create an informational poster 16 
relating to the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest. 17 
 (1)  The poster must: 18 
 (a)  List the signs and symptoms of sudden cardiac arrest. 19 
 (b)  Provide steps to take if a person goes into sudden 20 
cardiac arrest, including, but not limited to, the following: 21 
 1.  Call 911. 22 
 2.  Perform adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation. 23 
 3.  Use an automated external defibrillator, if applicable. 24 
 (c)  Be publicly displayed in an accessible area of a 25

business or state agency. 26 
 (d)  Be made electronically available by the department for 27 
businesses to download. 28 
 (2)  As used in this section, the term: 29 
 (a)  "Business" means a trade or profession with a building 30 
having a building occupancy rating of 1,000 persons. 31 
 (b)  "State agency" means an entity of the legislative, 32 
executive, or judicial branch of state government. 33 
 (3)  The department may adopt rules to implement this 34 
section. 35 
 Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 36
