A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Denese Lynetta Love; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of Denese Lynetta Love on October 14, 2023; and3
WHEREAS, Denese Lynetta Love was born on March 17, 1951, in metro Atlanta, Georgia,4
a beloved daughter of James "JD" Desmond Love and Minnie Sibley; and5
WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Denese was an active and life-long member6
of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend S. A. Baker; and7
WHEREAS, through her courageous actions, she leaves behind a legacy of integrity and8
unwavering commitment to justice as exemplified by her efforts to expose critical issues9
within her community, thereby inspiring meaningful change and increased transparency and10
accountability; and11
WHEREAS, Denese gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep12
concern for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she13
demonstrated to her family and friends were admired by others; and14

WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation

for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,16
she made this world a better place in which to live; and17
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Denese will long be remembered for her18
love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great19
fortune of knowing her.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Denese Lynetta Love and22
express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25
family of Denese Lynetta Love.26
