A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Marc Cohen on his outstanding public service; and for other

purposes.2
WHEREAS, Marc Cohen has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital3
role that he has played in municipal governance as well as his deep personal commitment to4
the welfare of his fellow citizens; and5
WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as demonstrated by his7
years of superlative service as Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Sugar Hill, Georgia; and8
WHEREAS, he has further served as chair of the Sugar Hill Arts Commission since 2014 and9
actively participated in various civic and professional organizations at the local and state10
levels; and11
WHEREAS, Marc Cohen's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable12
patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of13
this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and14

WHEREAS, he is an honest and dedicated public servant who strives for excellence in all

of his endeavors with a primary concern for the efficient functioning of local government;16
and17
WHEREAS, through his vital role in the development of the Sugar Hill downtown area, the18
Eagle Theater, the Bowl at Sugar Hill, and multiple parks, he has demonstrated a sincere19
commitment to community development during his distinguished tenure; and20
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23
the members of this body recognize and commend Marc Cohen for his efficient, effective,24
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere25
best wishes for continued health and happiness.26
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Marc28
Cohen.29
