66 Recognizing and commending Diane Wilush on her outstanding service; and for other

99 WHEREAS, Diane Wilush has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital3
1010 role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of4
1111 the citizens of Georgia; and5
1212 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,6
1313 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state, as evidenced7
1414 dramatically by her superlative service as President and CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of8
1515 Georgia and United Cerebral Palsy of South Carolina; and9
1616 WHEREAS, during her distinguished tenure, she has designed and implemented community10
1717 supports and services for children and adults with cerebral palsy and other developmental11
1818 disabilities; and12
1919 WHEREAS, prior to her work with United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), she worked in Florida as13
2020 a social worker and as director of community-based social services for individuals living14
2121 with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities as well as their families; and15

2424 WHEREAS, over her decades long career in social services, Diane has further served on a
2525 16
2626 number of boards and held voluntary board leadership positions, including the early17
2727 intervention coordinating council in South Florida, Service Providers Association in Georgia,18
2828 and more; and19
2929 WHEREAS, in addition, she has been actively engaged with many UCP national committees20
3030 such as public policy, affiliate services, the UCP Regional Administrators Council, and the21
3131 UCP Professional Council, where she serves as chair; and22
3232 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high23
3333 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom24
3434 which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved25
3535 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and26
3636 WHEREAS, Diane has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and unyielding27
3737 commitment to excellence will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her retirement; and28
3838 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this29
3939 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.30
4040 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body31
4141 recognize and commend Diane Wilush for her lifetime of compassionate, selfless, effective,32
4242 and tireless service; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend33
4343 the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.34
4444 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed35
4545 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Diane Wilush. 36
