ADOPTED SENATE
A RESOLUTION
Expressing support for the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center and condemning acts of

violence and domestic terrorism; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, located in DeKalb County, Georgia,3
will serve as a state-of-the-art training facility for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and4
other first responders, enabling them to better serve and protect the City of Atlanta, its5
citizens, and surrounding areas; and6
WHEREAS, since its inception, groups and individuals opposed to the construction of the7
Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, most of whom reside out-of-state, have systematically8
orchestrated a relentless campaign of violence, property damage, and domestic terrorism to9
obstruct and intimidate the completion of the training center and those connected to it; and 10
WHEREAS, law enforcement on the state and local level continue to serve bravely and11
diligently to secure the site of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center and the surrounding12
communities; and13
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia stands in support of the City of Atlanta, its continued14
dedication to strengthening public safety through the creation of the Atlanta Public Safety15

Training Center, and all those defending against the criminal acts committed by extremists
16
opposed to this worthy endeavor.17
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF18
GEORGIA that the members of this body join together to express their support for the19
Atlanta Public Safety Training Center and to condemn the acts of violence and domestic20
terrorism committed to obstruct its creation.21
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed22
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the23
press.24
