| 13 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5 |

| 14 | 14 | | SECTION 1.6 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | This Act shall be known and may be cited as the "Parental Waiver Save My Young Life7 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Act."8 |
|---|

| 18 | 18 | | Article 6 of Chapter 11 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to10 |

| 19 | 19 | | delinquency relative to the juvenile code, is amended by revising paragraphs (2) and (6) of11 |

| 20 | 20 | | subsection (a) of Code Section 15-11-601, relating to disposition of delinquent act, as12 |
|---|

| 22 | 22 | | "(2) An order requiring such child and his or her parent, guardian, or legal custodian to14 |

| 23 | 23 | | participate in counseling or in counsel and advice. In cases where the court has been |

| 27 | 27 | | unable to make contact on at least eight occasions within a 90 day period with such16 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | child's parent, guardian, or legal custodian, the court shall find that parental, guardian, or17 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | custodial consent has been waived and may order such child for rehabilitation,18 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | counseling, and in counsel and advice. Such rehabilitation, counseling, and counsel and19 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | advice may be provided by the court, court personnel, probation officers, community20 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | supervision officers, professional counselors or social workers, psychologists, physicians,21 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | physician assistants, qualified volunteers, or appropriate public, private, or volunteer22 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | agencies and shall be designed to assist in deterring future delinquent acts or other23 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | conduct or conditions which would be harmful to such child or society;"24 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | "(6) An order requiring that such child perform community service in a manner25 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | prescribed by the court and under the supervision of an individual or rehabilitation,26 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | counseling, and in counsel and advice program designated by the court;"27 |

| 40 | 40 | | All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.29 |
