A RESOLUTION
Recognizing May 18, 2023, as the Georgia World Organization of China Painters Day; and

for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the World Organization of China Painters is a nonprofit group dedicated to the3
appreciation and enrichment of the fine art of painting on porcelain; and4
WHEREAS, on January 17, 1962, Pauline A. Salyer started a china painting organization in5
Oklahoma, and in April 1967, she founded the World Organization of China Painters; and6
WHEREAS, today, there are china painting clubs all over the world, and the organization7
continues to grow and follow its founder's dream to further the art of china painting; and8
WHEREAS, one of the many objectives of the organization is to preserve a collection of fine9
hand painted porcelain, which serves to educate and deepen the appreciation of this fine art10
for posterity; and11
WHEREAS, the art of painting on porcelain has been recognized as fine art by all the world's12
great civilizations and has enriched museums in many countries for years; and13 23 LC 112 1215

WHEREAS, on May 18, 2023, a one-day luncheon convention for the Georgia World

Organization of China Painters will be held at the Cherokee Run Golf Club in Conyers,15
Georgia, with the theme of Floral Extraganzia 2023; and16
WHEREAS, this fine art, which requires great skill, training, and talent, has been17
enthusiastically adopted by thousands of porcelain artists from the State of Georgia for many18
years, and it abundantly fitting and proper that they be appropriately honored during this19
special time.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body recognize May 18, 2023, as the Georgia World Organization of22
China Painters Day.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the25
public and the press.26
