| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Awet Eyasu has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital3 |

| 20 | 20 | | role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the4 |

|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 |

| 23 | 23 | | talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7 |

| 24 | 24 | | dramatically by his superlative service as part of the Clarkston City Council; and8 |

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, during his distinguished tenure, which includes years of service as vice mayor9 |

| 26 | 26 | | and mayor, he has accomplished and advocated for a $15 minimum wage for city employees,10 |

| 27 | 27 | | a police policy of non-detainment, a "Ban the Box" ordinance for city employment, the11 |

| 28 | 28 | | revitalization of the City of Clarkston's town center, and many more remarkable12 |

| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Councilman Eyasu's significant organizational and leadership talents,14 |
