A RESOLUTION
Commending the Valley of Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, upon its centennial

anniversary; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, on October 16, 1923, the Valley of Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite,3
was established with the addition to the existing Lodge of Perfection, the Chapter of Rose4
Croix, Council of Kadosh and Consistery; and5
WHEREAS, the Valley of Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, is located at 1027 2nd6
Avenue, Columbus, Georgia, and is one of six valleys or chapters in the State of Georgia,7
also known as The Orient of Georgia; and8
WHEREAS, the Valley of Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, owes its allegiance9
to the ancient and accepted Scottish rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Masonic10
Jurisdiction in Charleston, South Carolina; and11
WHEREAS, the Valley of Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, serves its12
communities by providing 1,000 scholarships to worthy students who plan to attend a13

WHEREAS, this extraordinary chapter further helps children communicate by supporting
15
speech therapy and speech related equipment through its RiteCare partner, The Autism16
Learning Center of Columbus; and17
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable organization be18
appropriately honored.19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20
the members of this body commend the Valley of Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish21
Rite, upon the grand occasion of its centennial anniversary and extend best wishes for22
continued success.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25
Valley of Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.26
