Rudder for his 1 exceptional military career; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, our nation's security continues to rely on patriotic men and women who put3 their personal lives on hold in order to place themselves in harm's way to protect the4 freedoms that all United States citizens cherish; and5 WHEREAS, Command Sergeant Major Brandon B. Rudder has valiantly and courageously6 served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army since7 entering service on May 3, 2003; and8 WHEREAS, CSM Rudder, a native of Columbus, Ohio, began his distinguished military9 career with One Station Unit Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and has since served in10 numerous capacities such as forward observer, company and battalion fire support NCO,11 regimental targeting NCO, and joint terminal attack controller (JTAC); and12 WHEREAS, CSM Rudder's leadership roles have extended to JTAC13 instructor/examiner/program manager, platoon sergeant, first sergeant, division fires14 operations sergeant major, and battalion command sergeant major; and15 H. R. 818 - 1 - 24 LC 112 1880 WHEREAS, his assignments have spanned such distinguished units as the 3rd Ranger 16 Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment; 75th Ranger Regiment Headquarters; and multiple17 battalions within the 101st Airborne Division; and18 WHEREAS, CSM Rudder has honorably deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of19 many combat operations and completed a rotation in support of Operation European Assure,20 Deter, and Reinforce; and21 WHEREAS, CSM Rudder's awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal,22 Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and numerous others, along23 with his receipt of the Order of Saint Barbara, signify his exceptional service and dedication24 to his country; and25 WHEREAS, his selfless and heroic actions stand as a shining tribute to the strength of human26 spirit and willpower, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding27 accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished American be appropriately28 recognized.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that30 the members of this body recognize and commend Command Sergeant Major Brandon B.31 Rudder for his effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to this nation as well as extend the32 most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to35 Command Sergeant Major Brandon B.
