1616 Commending The Links, Incorporated and recognizing February 6, 2023, as the Georgia

1818 Links Day At The Capitol; and for other purposes.2
1919 WHEREAS, Georgia Links Day At The Capitol, an annual legislative conference, will be3
2020 held on February 6, 2023, and its theme is "Agents of Change, Advocates of Action"; and4
2121 WHEREAS, Georgia Links Day At The Capitol is part of the Southern Area Legislative and5
2222 public affairs priorities, which are considered through a lens of diversity, equity, and6
2323 inclusion; and7
2424 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated is uniquely position to leverage the collective strength,8
2525 resources, and energy of its members to ensure the public policies considered are reflective9
2626 of its membership and the global community; and10
2727 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated is an international not-for-profit corporation that was11
2828 established in 1946 for the purposes of education, civic, and cultural enhancement; and12
2929 WHEREAS, Georgia Links Day At The Capitol is a component of transformational13
3030 programming in legislative issues and public affairs for The Links, Incorporated; and 14 23 LC 126 0046

3333 WHEREAS, additionally, the trust is designed to motivate legislators to strengthen and more

3535 effectively enforce and fund legislation to close the gap in the foster care system, breast16
3636 health, and human trafficking; and17
3737 WHEREAS, Georgia Links Day At The Capitol is not only a southern area initiative but has18
3838 spread throughout the organization. The well anticipated event has expanded to not only19
3939 engage and empower but to educate as well. It is an opportunity for members to gather from20
4040 around the state to advocate in one voice and to have the rallying call of legislative priorities21
4141 heard; and22
4242 WHEREAS, members of The Links, Incorporated provide over one million service hours23
4343 annually in five primary programmatic areas: Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends24
4444 and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services; and25
4545 WHEREAS, three members of the Georgia General Assembly, Representative Inga Willis,26
4646 Representative Carolyn Hugley, and Alumna Member Senator Freddie Powell Sims, are27
4747 distinguished members of The Links, Incorporated; and28
4848 WHEREAS, the mission statement of The Links, Incorporated is "Friends Transforming29
4949 Communities Through Service."30
5050 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31
5151 the members of this body commend The Links, Incorporated for its work to improve the32
5252 quality of life in this state and nation, welcome Southern Area Director Sylvia Perry, and33
