A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to

special license plates promoting or supporting certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit2
corporations with proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit3
corporation, so as to establish a specialty license plate honoring Southern University Alumni;4
to establish a specialty license plate honoring Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; to provide5
for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to provide for compliance with6
constitutional requirements; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.7
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:8
SECTION 1.9
Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to special license10
plates promoting or supporting certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations with11
proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit corporation, is12
amended by adding new paragraphs to subsection (l) to read as follows:13
"(71)  A special license plate honoring Southern University Alumni.  The funds raised by
14
the sale of this special license plate shall be disbursed to the Atlanta Metropolitan Chapter15
of Southern University Alumni Federation of Georgia, Inc.16

(72)  A special license plate honoring Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  The funds raised17
by the sale of this special license plate shall be disbursed to the Delta Life Development18
Center."19
SECTION 2.20
In accordance with the requirements of Article III, Section IX, Paragraph VI(n) of the21
Constitution of the State of Georgia, this Act shall not become law unless it receives the22
requisite two-thirds' majority vote in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.23
SECTION 3.24
This Act shall become effective on January 1, 2026.25
SECTION 4.26
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.27
