1717 To amend Chapter 1 of Title 35 of the Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general

1919 provisions regarding law enforcement officers and agencies, so as to provide for certain2
2020 federal agents to clearly identify themselves while in the performance of their duties; to3
2121 repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4
2222 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5
2323 SECTION 1.6
2424 Chapter 1 of Title 35 of the Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions7
2525 regarding law enforcement officers and agencies, is amended by adding a new Code section8
2626 to read as follows:9
2727 "35-1-24.

2929 (a) An agent of United States Immigration and the Customs Enforcement and United11
3030 States Customs and Border Protection shall, in the performance of his or her duties of12
3131 either such agency, be required to:13
3232 (1) Wear a name badge, patch, or other clearly visible insignia that identifies the14
3333 individual agent; and15
3434 (2) Wear a uniform that clearly identifies the agency the to which the agent is affiliated.16

3737 (b) Any vehicle operated in the performance of duties by any agent provided for in17
3838 subsection (a) of this Code section shall be appropriately marked in a way that clearly18
3939 identifies the agency to which any such agent or group of agents is affiliated."19
4040 SECTION 2.20
4141 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.21
