25 LC 129 0108 House Resolution 225 By: Representative Horner of the 3 rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Kyran George Battersby; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Kyran George Battersby on January 8, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, he was born on March 5, 1951, in Dublin, Ireland, a beloved son of William4 Augustine and Gladys Mary Battersby; and5 WHEREAS, Kyran George Battersby moved from Ireland to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in6 1971 and then moved to the Northwest Georgia area in 1994, where he would reside in7 Ringgold, Georgia, with his family; and8 WHEREAS, in his professional career, he enjoyed gainful employment as part of Kelly9 Cadillac's Sales Department, retiring in 2014 after more than 30 years of dedicated service;10 and11 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Janet, and was blessed with two12 remarkable children, Anjanette and Kyran; and13 H. R. 225 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0108 WHEREAS, Kyran George Battersby was a wonderful family man who dearly loved his 14 wife, family, and pets, including his favorite raccoons, and he was known as the Master15 Griller and Meat Smoker, always enjoying the time he spent preparing meals for those he16 loved; and17 WHEREAS, a true Irish man blessed with the "gift of gab," Kyran George Battersby never18 met a stranger and enjoyed talking to anyone he encountered; and19 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Kyran George Battersby will long be20 remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who21 had the great fortune of knowing him.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Kyran George Battersby24 and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27 family of Kyran George Battersby.28 H.
