1414 Recognizing and commending Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins on the occasion of his

1616 military retirement; and for other purposes.2
1717 WHEREAS, our nation's security continues to rely on patriotic men and women who put3
1818 their personal lives on hold in order to place themselves in harm's way to protect the4
1919 freedoms that all United States citizens cherish; and5
2020 WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins valiantly and courageously served as a6
2121 guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army for 40 years and7
2222 retired from service on July 1, 2024; and8
2323 WHEREAS, during his distinguished career, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins demonstrated an9
2424 unwavering commitment to defending his fellow Americans throughout six overseas10
2525 deployments and two domestic mobilizations; and11
2626 WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins held leadership roles such as Platoon Leader, Company12
2727 Commander, Liaison Officer, Forward Strategic Transportation Officer, Human Resources13
2828 Officer, Logistics Officer, and Battalion Commander, serving in critical capacities that14
2929 supported United States military operations around the world; and15

3232 WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins is a highly decorated veteran and the recipient of

3434 numerous awards and commendations, including the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf17
3535 Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army18
3636 Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with Three19
3737 Oak Leaf Clusters, and many more; and20
3838 WHEREAS, only those with great strength, discipline, and a firm resolve achieve positions21
3939 of such status, and Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins brought great credit to himself, his family, this22
4040 state, and this nation through his outstanding performance and dedication; and23
4141 WHEREAS, his selfless and heroic actions stand as a shining tribute to the strength of human24
4242 spirit and willpower, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding25
4343 accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished American be appropriately26
4444 recognized.27
4545 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28
4646 the members of this body recognize and commend Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins for his29
4747 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and this nation;30
4848 congratulate him on the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best31
4949 wishes for continued health and happiness.32
5050 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33
5151 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to34
5252 Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins.35
