Christopher Jenkins on the occasion of his 1 military retirement; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, our nation's security continues to rely on patriotic men and women who put3 their personal lives on hold in order to place themselves in harm's way to protect the4 freedoms that all United States citizens cherish; and5 WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins valiantly and courageously served as a6 guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army for 40 years and7 retired from service on July 1, 2024; and8 WHEREAS, during his distinguished career, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins demonstrated an9 unwavering commitment to defending his fellow Americans throughout six overseas10 deployments and two domestic mobilizations; and11 WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins held leadership roles such as Platoon Leader, Company12 Commander, Liaison Officer, Forward Strategic Transportation Officer, Human Resources13 Officer, Logistics Officer, and Battalion Commander, serving in critical capacities that14 supported United States military operations around the world; and15 H. Jenkins is a highly decorated veteran and the recipient of 16 numerous awards and commendations, including the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf17 Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army18 Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with Three19 Oak Leaf Clusters, and many more; and20 WHEREAS, only those with great strength, discipline, and a firm resolve achieve positions21 of such status, and Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins brought great credit to himself, his family, this22 state, and this nation through his outstanding performance and dedication; and23 WHEREAS, his selfless and heroic actions stand as a shining tribute to the strength of human24 spirit and willpower, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding25 accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished American be appropriately26 recognized.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body recognize and commend Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins for his29 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and this nation;30 congratulate him on the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best31 wishes for continued health and happiness.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to34 Colonel (Ret.)
