Brown upon his retirement; and for other 1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Captain Matthew T. Brown has served with honor and distinction as a member3 of the Cobb County Police Department for more than 30 years; and4 WHEREAS, during his distinguished tenure, Captain Brown has worked as part of vital5 departments such as the Crimes Against Persons Unit, Crimes Against Children Unit, Special6 Victims Unit, and Major Crimes Unit; and7 WHEREAS, he has further dedicated innumerable hours of his time and energy toward8 volunteering with the SafePath Children's Advocacy Center Inc., ensuring that the youth of9 Cobb County are protected from abuse; and10 WHEREAS, he is an honest and dedicated public servant who strives for excellence in all11 of his endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and safety of the citizens of Cobb12 County; and13 H. R. 26 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0017 WHEREAS, this spirited law enforcement professional has exhibited extraordinary devotion 14 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of his15 duties; and16 WHEREAS, Captain Brown's efficient and effective commitment to excellence has been17 recognized by his peers through the many decorations and awards he has received, including18 a Medal of Valor, the 300 Club Award, and the Chief's Award; and19 WHEREAS, his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others is an outstanding example of20 the positive effect law enforcement professionals have on the lives and well-being of others;21 and22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and23 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement professionals on behalf of the24 citizens of this state.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend Captain Matthew T. Brown upon the27 grand occasion of his retirement for his efficient, effective, and dedicated service to Cobb28 County as well as express their utmost appreciation for having so purely and truly defined29 for others the meaning of public servant.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to32 Captain Matthew T.
