25 LC 112 2942 House Resolution 270 By: Representatives Myles of the 126 th , Miller of the 62 nd , Bennett of the 94 th , McQueen of the 61 st , Sanchez of the 42 nd , and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Tenisha Bibbs; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, Dr. Tenisha Bibbs is a dedicated maternal health advocate and postpartum2 coach who serves as CEO of Tenisha Bibbs Enterprises, where she leads efforts to improve3 maternal and postpartum health outcomes through holistic care and strategic advocacy; and4 WHEREAS, with over 25 years of experience, Dr. Bibbs works to address critical gaps in5 postpartum mental health, lactation support, birth advocacy, and maternal mortality6 prevention, ensuring that mothers and birthing persons receive the comprehensive care they7 need to thrive; and8 WHEREAS, as the founder of Refocus Newborn Health & Postpartum Care, a nonprofit9 organization, Dr. Bibbs provides essential services to help mothers transition from hospital10 to home with confidence, focusing on postpartum recovery, mental health resources, and11 breastfeeding education to support long-term maternal well-being; and12 WHEREAS, Dr. Bibbs is dedicated to combating maternal mental health challenges,13 including postpartum depression and maternal suicide, as well as addressing the barriers that14 prevent many women from accessing the care they need; and15 H. R. 270 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2942 WHEREAS, a passionate policy advocate, Dr. Bibbs collaborates with healthcare providers, 16 community leaders, and policymakers to increase access to maternal health services,17 championing the expansion of Medicaid as well as insurance coverage for doula services and18 holistic postpartum care; and19 WHEREAS, as a published author and dynamic speaker, Dr. Bibbs educates and inspires20 through her books, including Ask a Doula: A Transitional Guide for New Moms, which21 provides practical advice to help women navigate the postpartum journey; and22 WHEREAS, through her work, Dr. Bibbs is building a lasting legacy of maternal health23 advocacy, upholding the belief that every mother deserves access to resources and support24 that foster healing, confidence, and long-term well-being; and25 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this26 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Tenisha Bibbs for her efficient,29 effective, and exemplary service to her fellow citizens as well as extend the most sincere best30 wishes for continued health and happiness.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.33 Tenisha Bibbs.34 H.
